How to Challenge NEET Answer Key
Login to NTA Portal
Visit neet.nta.nic.in and login with your application number and date of birth during the challenge window.
Review Answer Key
Compare the official answer key with your responses. Identify questions where you believe the official answer is incorrect.
Submit Challenge
For each question you want to challenge, select the question number, provide evidence/reasoning, and submit. You can challenge multiple questions.
Pay Challenge Fee
Rs. 200 per question challenged. Payment via net banking, UPI, or credit/debit card. Amount is refundable if your challenge is accepted.
Wait for Resolution
NTA reviews all challenges with a panel of subject experts. If accepted, the answer key is revised and scores recalculated for all candidates.
When to challenge: Only challenge if you have strong evidence — NCERT reference, standard textbook reference, or if the question has ambiguous options. Frivolous challenges waste your Rs. 200 fee. Focus challenges on questions where you are confident the official answer is incorrect.

MBBS Abroad — Start Planning With Your Estimated Score
Once you have your estimated NEET score from the answer key, do not wait for the official result to start planning. If your expected score is between 250-500, you have strong options for MBBS abroad at NMC-approved universities. Many students use the estimated score to shortlist universities and begin the documentation process — giving them a head start over others.
The admission process for September intake at universities in Russia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan begins right after NEET results. Early applicants often get better hostel and seat selections. Our counsellors can help you create a shortlist based on your estimated score — completely free, with no obligation.
Frequently Asked Questions — NEET Answer Key 2026
When will NTA release the official NEET 2026 answer key?
NTA typically releases the official NEET answer key 2-3 weeks after the exam date. For NEET 2026 (expected exam: May 4, 2026), the official answer key is expected around May 15-25, 2026. Before that, coaching institutes release unofficial keys within hours of the exam.
How accurate are unofficial answer keys from coaching institutes?
Unofficial answer keys from top institutes like Allen and Aakash are approximately 96-98% accurate. However, 2-4 questions may have different answers compared to the final NTA key. Use them for preliminary score estimation, but wait for the official key for accurate score calculation.
How to calculate expected NEET score from answer key?
Compare your OMR responses with the answer key. For each correct answer: +4 marks, for each wrong answer: -1 mark, unanswered: 0 marks. Formula: Score = (Correct x 4) - (Wrong x 1). Maximum: 720 marks. This expected score helps you start planning for counselling or MBBS abroad admission.
Can I challenge the NEET official answer key?
Yes, NTA provides a 2-3 day window to challenge the official answer key. You need to login to neet.nta.nic.in, select the question(s) you want to challenge, provide evidence/reasoning, and pay Rs. 200 per question (refundable if accepted). A panel of subject experts reviews all challenges.
What happens if a challenged answer is accepted?
If NTA accepts a challenge and changes an answer, the revised answer key is used for all candidates. Scores are recalculated for everyone, not just the challenger. The challenge fee (Rs. 200) is refunded. This can affect thousands of students' ranks, making the final answer key crucial.
Should I rely on the unofficial answer key for MBBS abroad planning?
You can use unofficial answer keys for preliminary score estimation and start exploring MBBS abroad options. If your estimated score is 250-500, you likely qualify for NMC-approved universities abroad. However, wait for the official result before making final admission decisions. You can book a free counselling session with iAMBBS to explore options in parallel.
